Stewardship takes many forms. It might be a long-running community effort to care for a river, woodland, or garden. It might be informal acts of care, walking the same path every day, noticing seasonal changes, picking up litter, defending access, or simply feeling a deep attachment to a place. It might be the work of an organisation navigating complex systems of ownership, permission, and responsibility to care for a place.

This space invites you to share those experiences.

We are building an open repository of stewardship stories, a collective record of how people relate to, care for, and struggle over land, water, and shared spaces. These stories aim to help make visible the often unseen labour, emotions, conflicts, and collaborations that shape stewardship in practice.

What kinds of stories can be shared?

There is no single “right” kind of story. We welcome:

Personal experiences of places that matter to you, past or present.
Informal or everyday acts of care for land, rivers, or nature.
Community-led stewardship projects at any stage of their journey.
Organisational perspectives on stewardship practices.
Stories of success, failure, uncertainty, negotiation, or conflict.
Reflections on belonging, loss, hope, frustration, or repair.

Your story does not need to be polished or complete. Partial, tentative, and unfinished accounts are welcome.
